A full redesign of PC Securities, a stock information site that has represented Korea for over 20 years. Its structure had remained largely unchanged since around 2008, reaching its limits both in what information it could offer and technically.

Npay: Stock – PC Renewal
2025
Role
Planning/Design PM on the Naver Pay side — led the project, selected the partner agency, directed user research, set the initial direction, and coordinated with external and internal stakeholders
The need for a service overhaul had been raised repeatedly, but it kept getting deprioritized due to resource constraints and competing priorities. A leadership decision finally set the project in motion in 2025. Given the service's complexity and internal resource constraints, the project was run together with an outside design/development consortium.
The project followed the process outlined below.

Key Findings from the Situation Analysis
User research and situation analysis surfaced a few key insights: the need to move beyond a domestic-stock-centric focus — something the team itself had felt was lacking — along with the need to overhaul the aging structure and improve trust in the community.

Restructuring the IA
While redesigning the IA, we created a dedicated “Market” section to cover a wider range of financial products and information, including overseas markets and crypto assets. We also brought the community — one of Naver Pay Securities' core strengths — to the forefront, with the goal of making it a service people return to often.

Final Design
The design prioritized clear communication of information while keeping things simple. To support quick, frequent access to watchlisted and held stocks, we made extensive use of the side-panel pattern common in desktop securities services.

Outcomes
The beta service launched in early December 2025. Since then, we've been fixing usability issues and unexpected bugs uncovered in operation, and gradually adding features that didn't make it into the initial development window.
Because PC Securities' core user base skews older and the scope of change is large, we plan to roll out the transition gradually to give users enough time to adjust.
